You need to apply for a permit if you plan to host a

Apply at least 21 days before the date of your event

National picture identification (national ID, Drivers licence, passport)

Tax Registration Number (TRN)

All pertinent information about the event (location, date, time, etc.)

Fees per class

Class A

(more than 2,000 persons) $40,000

Class B

(over 1,000 but less than 2,000 persons) $30,000

Class C

(more than 300 but less than 1,000 persons) $15,000

Class D

(300 persons or less) $5000

You are allowed to make an application on someone’s behalf, however, you must present the following:

Certified copies of the documents for the other applicant by a justice of the Peace (JP) are accepted.

Requirements For Large Event

Please submit a site plan/route map for the event. The plan should be in blueprint form or professional drawing format, CAD (computer aided drafting). If blueprint or CAD are not submitted, your site plan should produce in a clear and legible manner (letters and symbols should be legible). The site plan should include names of all streets or areas that are part of the venue of the event. If the event includes a moving route (parade, run, swim, walk, bike, march, procession) of any kind, indicate the direction of travel and all street or lane closure needed/requested.

Note: Any event with more than 300 persons is considered a Large Event

Requirements For Promotional Events

Licence Requirements

Individual License

  • Tax Payer Registration Number (TRN)
  • Valid identification (National ID, Passport, Driver’s Licence)
  • Two (2) passport-sized Photographs (signed & stamped by JP)
    Certification for Cosmetology/Hairdressing/Barbering
  • Valid Public Health Permit
  • Applicable fee
  • Copy of last licence (for renewal)

Shop / Salon License

  • Four (4) passport-sized photographs (signed & stamped by JP)
  • Completed application Form
  • Applicable fee
  • Copy of last licence (for renewal)
  • Health permit
  • Tax Payer Registration Number (TRN)
  • Valid identification (National ID, Passport, Driver’s Licence)

Butcher's License

  • Completed application form
  • Butcher public health permit
  • Four (4) passport sized photographs (authorized by a JP no more than 6 months prior)
  • Butcher’s record book ($1000)
  • Applicable fee
  • Tax payer Registration Number (TRN)
  • Copy of last licence (for renewal)
  • Valid identification (National ID, passport, driver’s licence)

Note: Persons with a valid licence who will not be in operation for a period of time MUST submit a letter to the Corporation detailing the reason(s) to avoid penalties and undue fees.
